WINTER WORKSHOP 2011
Fifth Annual Event

February 11 in Birmingham
Theme: Ending LGBTQ Bullying & Suicide
in School & Community Settings

ALGBTICAL presented its 5th Annual Winter Workshop on Friday, February 11, 2011.  The event took place at the Homewood Public Library in the Birmingham area.

The Winter Workshop theme was: "Ending LGBTQ Bullying & Suicide in School & Community Settings."

The workshop was a huge success!  Organizers considered the event the best workshop to date.  Attendance was excellent (71 participants registered).  Response from attendees was very favorable.

The ALGBTICAL Winter Workshop was co-sponsored and endorsed by the Alabama School Counselors Association (ALSCA) and the Alabama Safe Schools Coalition (ASSC).

We were especially excited to feature our keynote speaker, Dr. Anneliese Singh. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia College of Educationís Department of Counseling & Human Development Services.  She is Past President of ALGBTIC (Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Issues in Counseling).
